BAHAWALNAGAR: A Chishtian resident was arrested on Tuesday for alleged incest, said B-Division police.

According to police, the 23-year-old woman, of Chishtian, alleged her father gets drunk and rapes her and threatened her with her life if she told anyone. The suspect has two wives. She claimed that she had told her mother, brothers and other relatives about her father’s cruelty several times but they refused to believe her. She said that on June 7, he again raped her.

B-Division SHO Jawad Haider said that rape was proved in the medical report. He said police registered a case under section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code and arrested him. The police were waiting for the DNA to proceed further in the case, he added.
