LAHORE: A traffic warden allegedly roughed up a woman and her brother for showing ‘expired traffic licence’ in Saddar Bazaar of Cantonment Board.

A video clip of the incident went viral on social media. It showed the warden snatching the woman’s mobile phone and beating her and her brother who were going to market.

Eyewitnesses told media persons that the warden got annoyed after the man who was taking his sister on his motorbike presented ‘expired traffic licence’ on being stopped near Saddar Bazaar. He later called his colleagues and took the woman and her brother to the nearby Traffic Sector where the officials again misbehaved with them.

The woman claimed that the warden snatched her mobile phone to seize it in place of the expired licence. As her brother protested, he beat her brother also.

The DIG Operations took notice of the incident and asked the Cantt SP Operations to probe the matter and submit him a report.
