MITHI: The Sindh government is all set to build a 110-bed hospital in Islamkot taluka of Tharparkar district in collaboration with the Thar Foundation.

The provincial government would provide Rs500 million for the establishment of the hospital, said Sindh Minister for Energy Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh in a statement issued here on Thursday.

“The Sindh government is committed to providing relief and all possible facilities to the people of Tharparkar,” he said. He said the foundation had already undertaken a number of projects to provide modern basic facilities in various parts of Islamkot taluka and expressed the hope that it would continue its work to provide more required facilities to the people of Thar.

He said that various power projects being installed in Tharparkar would greatly help overcome the power crisis in future. The minister said the Sindh government in collaboration with the Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company was working on more such welfare schemes. He assured people that all issues facing Tharis would be resolved.

Mohsin Babar, spokesperson of the company and Thar Foundation, in a press statement lauded the efforts of the Sindh government for reposing its trust in his organisation.
