OKARA: Police have registered a case against 10 people who allegedly manhandled four members of a family and deprived them of valuables when they were having the graves of their elders at Ghoray Shah graveyard renovated.

The FIR said complainant Waqas, along with his father Abdul Sattar, uncle Qasim and nephew Zubair, was having the graves of family elders renovated when 10 people armed with clubs and iron rods stormed there and introduced themselves as the caretakers of a shrine over there and asked them to stop the work without paying for it.

The suspects including Bilal, Iqbal and Ahmad Raza manhandled the four people and shoved them out of the graveyard, said the FIR. It said the men with menacing appearance also deprived Waqas and his family of cash and mobile phones.

The suspects, alleged the complainant, were involved in drug pushing and wrongly claimed themselves as the caretakers of a shrine at the graveyard.

The city A-Division police registered a case under sections 379 and 506-B of the PPC.

MURDER CASE: The Chuchak police have registered a case of matriculation student’s murder against four people.

The FIR said Muzammil used to supervise agricultural fields at 1A/ GD village (Sakhi Abdal) about 30 kilometres away from here. He was going to the fields for canal water irrigation but did not return home and his mobile phone was powered off. With the help of village men his family found his body near a drain.

Local ‘khoji’ (tracers) found the clue with the help of footprints of the suspects.

On the report of Muzammil’s uncle Rehmat Ali, police registered a case against the suspects.

The incident left the family in distress as the slain boy’s father Muhammad Hanif is said to be visually challenged and brother retarded.
