MANSEHRA: A man and a woman were killed in the name of honour, while the bodies of two more were found in parts of Mansehra district on Tuesday.

Saeed Khan lodged an FIR with the Khaki police station saying Rohit Khan killed his wife and her alleged paramour in Khawajgan area and fled.

He said the gunman told him about the killings while fleeing.

The bodies were shifted to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, whose doctors handed them over to the respective families after fulfilling medico-legal formalities.

The police registered an FIR and began search for the accused.

Meanwhile, a shepherd family spotted the bodies of a man and a woman in Gatrori area of Kund Bangla forest and informed the Shinkiari police.

Resident Nasir Saeed told reporters that shepherds suspected that the two were killed somewhere else before the bodies were dumped in the forest.

The police have yet to identify the deceased.

BAIL DENIED: District and sessions judge Suhail Sheraz Noor Sani on Tuesday dismissed the bail petition of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl leader Mufti Kifaytullah after the counter-terrorism department incorporated sedation section of the anti-terrorism law in the FIR against him.

Bilal Khan, counsel for the jailed JUI-F leader, told reporters that since the CTD added the anti-terrorism law’s section in the case against his client, the district court had lost jurisdiction to hear his bail petition.

“I am moving the Abbottabad anti-terrorism court for my client’s bail,” he said.

A letter issued by the SP (investigation) on behalf of the deputy inspector general of police, CTD, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to the Hazara division SP CTD said as approved by the competent authority, the Kifaytullah case was sent to him for further investigation.

It also sought the case file for further investigation.

Mr Kifaytullah was arrested last month on the charge of instigating the people against the state’s institutions.
