CHINIOT: A 75-year-old widow has sought police help to save her house from her three sons and to get maintenance.
Jantan Bibi, a resident of Mohallah Thatti Sharqi of the city, filed an application with the district police officer to lodge a first information report against her three sons who had driven her out of the house, which was constructed by her and her late husband.
Bibi said her husband died some 30 years ago and she worked as a maid to earn livelihood. Her three sons, Liaqat, Shoukat and Nazakat, recently divided the rooms of the house among themselves and threw her belongings out. The sons asked her to leave the house.
Bibi said she used to work as a housemaid in the past but now she was too old to work. She pleaded for action against her sons to get maintenance and room for living.
The DPO sent the application to Police Women Helpline in-charge Laraib Shahid who summoned Bibi’s sons. The sons agreed to pay their mother Rs2,000 per month each and a safe place for her living in the house.
