CHITRAL: The local chapter of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has expressed resentment over selection and posting of non-locals against the lower cadre posts in social welfare department in the district.

JUI-F district chief Qari Jamal Abdul Nasir told local journalists here on Monday that the department had recently opened Darul Aman for the distressed women but non-local staff was being posted there.

He said that the lower posts up to BPS-16 were the basic right of the locals. He said that the importance of locals was higher in department of social welfare and its project of Darul Aman.

He said that in social welfare department, the field staff had to deal with poor whose majority was illiterate and only locals could perceive and solve their problems.

“Was there not a suitable person available for the post of driver or junior clerk in Chitral that they were sent here from down districts,” questioned the JUI-F leader.

He regretted that hostel warden of darul Aman was also sent from other district. He said that the warden should be local as she had to be fully conversant with local traditions.

He criticised the government for violating merit in recruitment process and depriving backward areas from its right in the process.

Qari Jamal said that protest movement would be organised throughout the district soon after Eidul Fitr if the appointments of non locals in social welfare department were not cancelled.
