KARACHI: Bandits kill woman

KARACHI, Oct 20: Wife of a policeman was killed and his young nephew was critically injured by bandits in Shah Latif area late Wednesday night. Police said that two suspects barged into the house of Nabi Buksh, a head constable of the traffic police, who was not at home.

As his wife Subagi, 25, posed resistance, the suspects slit her throat with a kitchen knife. They also slit the throat of young Shahzad, 13, who had come to visit his uncle’s house.

Hearing hue and cry, neighbours came and saw the two victim’s in a pool of blood.

They were rushed to the JPMC where the woman was pronounced dead while the young boy was provided treatment and shifted to the NICH.

Hospital sources said that Shahzad is in critical condition.

SHO Shah Latif later told Dawn that he had arrested a suspect, identified as Fatah Mohammad, a resident of Radio Colony.

The suspect was arrested as someone from the neighbourhood saw him leaving the house after the incident and later informed the police about his identity, police said.

ACCIDENT: A young motorcyclist died in a road accident in Site area Thursday.

Police said that Asghar Ali, 32, was on his motorcycle when a speeding truck of the CDGK hit him near Ghani Chowrangi.
