Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho has said that the lack of quarantine rules for travellers from abroad allowed for the spread of different variants of the coronavirus.

In a video statement, she said that the new variants spread at a faster rate and all measures for protecting citizens must be taken.

She said that inter-city travel ban will come into effect from Friday, adding that citizens over 50 years of age could get vaccinated on a walk-in basis.

"Wear masks, avoid crowds and travelling unnecessarily, and keep washing your hands," she said.
