I HAD booked a South Korean car at its Sharea Faisal showroom on Feb 12 and was informed that the car would be delivered in April. On the first of April, I got a call and was told that I should make the balance payment which I promptly did and was informed that the delivery schedule would be released on April 6 and that I would be subsequently informed about the exact date when the car would be delivered.
When I did not receive any call, I contacted them myself and this time I was told that the car would not be delivered in April, but will “perhaps” be delivered in May as “there is a backlog in production”.
This information was only given to me after I had made the full payment. If they were aware of the backlog, they should not have asked for the full payment and also not given the delivery time when I was booking the car.
The car manufacturers should look into this matter and expedite the delivery of the car as promised.
