GUJRANWALA, Oct 19: Levelling rigging allegations, ARD nominee Chaudhry Fazal Abbas Cheema and some leaders said three SHOs in PP-97 constituency where bypolls would be held on Nov 10 had been asked to watch the ruling PML aspirant’s interest.

The police officers, they said, were assigned duties at Gakkhar, Qila Deedar Singh and Ladheywala towns.

Speaking at a meeting here, they said since the Lahore High Court had disqualified MPA Mian Mazhar Javed owing to his fake BA degree and the Supreme Court, after upholding the decision, ordered by-election on Nov 10, the ruling PML fielded for the slot Chaudhry Nasir Cheema, brother of former MPA Chaudhry Muhammad Azam Cheema, who formed the three towns the centre of his election campaign.

The Cheemas, the ARD men said, had deployed SHOs in the three places to watch their interest. They said the people of the constituency would foil all tactics of the government on the polling day, also demanding the chief election commissioner to take an action. — Correspondent
