ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) has decided to set up a dedicated office in Quetta soon for the development of IT industry in Balochistan.

In a statement, PSEB MD Osman Nasir said the board was extending maximum facilitation to the IT industry in order to enhance exports of IT products and services from Pakistan and ensure holistic growth.

The PSEB is an attached department of the Ministry of IT & Telecom. The ongoing fiscal year witnessed the largest number of IT company registrations, 2,826 companies registering with the SECP. Pakistan’s ICT industry export remittances, including telecommunication, computer and information services, have risen to $1.29 billion at a growth rate of 41.43 per cent during July-February of in the current fiscal year, compared to $917.84 million in the same period in FY20.
