KOHAT: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa additional chief secretary, provincial secretary irrigation and commissioner Kohat division on Thursday visited sasta bazaars in Kohat, Hangu and Orakzai and checked the availability and prices of food items besides implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to contain spread of coronavirus.

They had been directed by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and the chief secretary to ensure that the people were not affected by shortage of edibles during Ramazan for whose facility sasta bazaars had been established in all the districts, said an official statement.

Additional chief secretary Amir Sultan Tareen went to the Kohat sasta bazaar along with deputy commissioner Abdur Rehman and tehsil municipal officer Mohammad Shoeb.

He expressed his satisfaction at the availability of food items in the bazaar and directed the administration to keep a daily check in this regard.

Secretary irrigation Tahir Khan visited the Hangu and Orakzai sasta bazaars, checked shops and confirmed from the people about the prices of food commodities.

Commissioner, Kohat division, Syed Abdul Jabbar visited the Hangu sasta bazaar and asked deputy commissioner Hameed Ullah Khan to visit it daily. Speaking on the occasion, he said that it was essential for the people to follow the Covid SOPs in their own interest. He asked the shopkeepers and the buyers to wear face masks keeping in view rush in the bazaars.
