LAHORE: Former Pakistan basketball captain Ghulam Farid died in Lahore on Monday. He was 78.

Farid, who represented Pakistan in several international events including the Asian Games, was hospitalised a week ago. He was laid to rest in a local graveyard.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Basketball Federation secretary Khalid Bashir, Col Nasim Butt, Mohammad Akram and other prominent basketball players attended the funeral, and prayed for the departed soul.
