QUETTA: A leader of the ruling Balochistan Awami Party, Senator Agha Umar Ahmedzai, has claimed that BAP will emerge as the single largest party in Balochistan in the next general election and form government in the province on its own.

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, he said his party in a very short period had become the fourth largest party of the country. Senior lawyer Amanullah Tareen, along with other lawyers, joined the BAP on this occasion.

Senator Ahmedzai welcomed the lawyer and said it was the leadership and vision of Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani, which had made the party able to have 12 members in the upper house.

He said in the last Senate election BAP’s two candidates remained unsuccessful on technocrat and general seats by only one vote. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Alyani had put the country and the province on the right path.

Earlier speaking at the press conference, Amanullah Tareen said he had joined the BAP because CM Alyani was giving special attention to the development of Pishin district.

“I have a mission and for its fulfillment I have joined the BAP, which has put the province on the path of development under the leadership of Mr Alyani.” He said after much thought and deliberations he and his colleagues decided to join the BAP.

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Ameer Mohammad Tareen and former senator Nusrat Shaheen also welcomed Amanullah Tareen in the party.

Asmatullah Tareen, Syed Saifullah Tareen and other BAP leaders were also present on the occasion.
