KARACHI: Team Karachi’s brilliant performance propelled them to title win in the SSB Stability Pakistan Sindh Karate Championship here on Friday. Sanghar and Larkana got second and third positions respectively.

The two-day event was held at the Humbo Gymnasium Hall, Kakri Ground in Lyari where players from Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur, Benazirabad, Mirpur Khas, Karachi Green, Karachi White, Sanghar, Nowshera Feroz, and District Badin participated.

The event was organised by Sindh Karate Association in collaboration with the Department of Sports and Youth Affair Government of Sindh & National Institute of Karate Do. Chairman Sindh Karate Association, Sensei Naseem Ahmed Qureshi inaugurated the Championship. Chief Guest was Sheehan Mohammad Jahangir, Chairman Pakistan Karate Federation, who specially came from Lahore and distributed medals, trophies, and certificates to the position holders.

Jahangir praised the Sindh Karate Association’s efforts to promote karate all over Sindh. “Our support is with Sindh Association to keep up the promotion which will give us new talent. We are also going to organize coaching, referees, and judged courses at the district level,” he said.

Also present were member POA Environment Commission Tehmina Asif, President Karachi Sports Foundation Syed Waseem Hashmi, Chairman Asif Azeem. distributed medals, trophies, and certificates to the position holders.

Martial arts champion Kulsoom Hazara, Karamatullah Khan served as referees and judges. Chief Organiser Mohammad Moin Dhedhi and newly elected VP of Sindh Karate Abdul Hameed were also present on the occasion.
