LAHORE: Senator and PTI Central Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhry says the government has saved the country from a ‘mass destruction’ by timely imposing ban on the religious organization that launched violence and left 500 policemen injured, 247 seriously injured and four died.

Speaking at a news conference at the party office on Friday, Mr Chaudhry said this organisation had come into being because of a policeman and eventually it launched violence against policemen.

Stating that the writ of the state could not be challenged, he said the law would take its course to punish all those who had violated law of the land.

The senator said Prime Minister Imran Khan had spoken about the Namoos-e-Risalat at every forum and even spoke about Islamophobia in the United Nations. He said Mr Khan had also written a letter to president of France and condemned the attempt that hurt the feelings of Muslims all over the world.

He said he had sympathy with the banned outfit and wanted that a middle way should have been adopted through negotiations. He said this banned organisation had bagged 28,000 votes in the Feb 19 Daska by-election but later the PML-N used money and its votes reduced to just 8,000 in the April 10 by-election.
