Punjab Tourism Department has announced the closure of amusement parks, monuments, tourist sites, and sightseeing bus service in the province till April 11 in view of rising coronavirus cases.

According to the notification, "the secretary Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department has recommended that operation of monuments, tourist sites and sightseeing buses of Tourism Department may be suspended till April 11 to curb the spread of Covid-19 and in [larger] public interest."

"Shalimar Gardens, tomb of Jahangir and Hiran Minaar are among those historical sites which are being closed," the public relations officer of the department said in a statement.
