KARACHI: Neigh­bourhood Club beat Arambagh Club 18-13 to clinch the SSB Pakistan Day Girls basketball title here at the Arambagh-Abdul Nasir courts on Tuesday evening.

Earlier, Arambagh Club beat Iqra University team 12-9 while Neighbourhood Club beat KMA College 13-11 in the two semifinals.

Falak Naz, Nur Fatima, Asifa Khan, Marium Noor, Rafia Khalid and Ayesha Zaheer were the outstanding players for various teams on the day.

Meanwhile, in the boys events that commenced on Tuesday, two matches were decided. In the first match Arambagh Club beat Gujjar Club 43-51, Obaid Hafeez (21 pts) being the main scorer for the winners. He was well supported by Saad Salahuddin (14 pts). Roy Sutton (15 pts) was the leading scorer for the losing side.

In the second match, Peterson Star Club beat Dow Club 39-24. Stephen Fernandes (25 pts) was star of the day and scored five three-pointers. For the losing side, Arif Shahid (9pts) and Rafay Salahuddin (8 pts) were the salient performers.
