LAHORE: Speakers at a seminar said peace could be possible only through meaningful engagement of all stakeholders of society.

The seminar titled ‘Peace Initiatives’ was organised by the Centre for Health and Gender Equality (Change) here on Wednesday.

The event highlighted the efforts in raising the awareness about peace, tolerance, acceptance, diversity and harmony. It aimed to further discuss the current initiative and take all stakeholders on board in propagating the message of peace and social harmony.

Director General of Punjab Institute of Language Art and Culture Dr Sughra Sadaf urged the students to live with some objective that would ultimately help in building Pakistan as a peaceful society.

“Peace could be possible only through meaningful engagement of all stakeholders of society,” she said.

Senior journalist Salman Abid said: “This programme helps in building leadership skills of youth, women and minorities so their participation in such events help making the country peaceful and prosperous.”

Parshant Singh presented suggestions regarding the minorities’ role for playing their part in the development of the country.

“To portray the positive image of the country amongst the rest of the world we must not depend only onwards rather our actions should speak louder.”
