ABBOTTABAD: A man and his grandson died due to suffocation caused by gas leakage at Kunj Jadeed here on Tuesday night.

According to police, one Sadiq asked his grandson Abdullah to turn on the gas heater and later both went to sleep forgetting to turn it off.

On Wednesday morning, when they did not respond to calls to wake up the family members broke the door open and found both unconscious. They were rushed to the DHQ hospital where doctors pronounced them dead.

The bodies were handed over to the family members and later buried at their native graveyard. As many as 15 people have died due to gas suffocation in the current winter season. Cold weather prevails because of recent rain and snowfall in Abbottabad city and the hilly areas.
