GWADAR: Five people were injured in a grenade attack in Turbat town of Kech district on Saturday evening.

Police said unidentified men hurled a grenade at a vehicle of security personnel patrolling the Absar road area. However, the device exploded near a medical store. Five passers-by suffered injuries.

Police and personnel of the Frontier Corps rushed to the site and took the injured to district hospital, Turbat, where their condition was said to be stable.

The windowpanes of the medical store and some other shops were shattered by the impact of the blast.

Security forces launched a search operation in the area to arrest the attackers.
