Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan has said that the government is set to impose restrictions on direct and indirect flights from certain African and South American countries.

Full details of the decision would be provided shortly, he said, adding that the measure was being taken due to the presence of Covid-19 variants in those countries.

Sultan also stressed upon following Covid-19 standard operating procedures and precautions to curb the growing number of cases.

"Contravening and disregarding administrative actions at this time will prove to be very dangerous and painful for the whole country."
