KARACHI: Usman Club continued its superb form in the Malik Shahid Hamid Shaheed basketball tournament on Tuesday when it stunned the strong Mumba Club outfit 38-32 in a nerve-fraying contest.

Moeed Amir was the architect of Usman Club win and scored 12 points while Mohammad Iqbal (11 pts) and Faizan Sheikh (10 pts) also played well. For the losing side, the main scorer was Saad Khan (16 pts) who was well supported by Mohammad Haris (9 ptss).

In the second match of the day, Karsaz Club beat Arambagh Club 40-41 in a thrilling clash. Ali Hasa was in epic form for the winners and scored 18 points aided by four three-pointers. He was supported by Talha (12 pts) and Basit Khan (10 pts).

For the losing team, Salahuddin, Yash Kumar and Hasan Ali scored 10 points each.

Meanwhile KBBA Presi­dent Ghulam Mohammad has offered special thanks to KMC’s Laeeq Ahmed and CSR consultant Khurshid Ahmed Shah for including basketball in the Pakistan Day Sports Festival. A Pakistan Day girls basketball event comprising four teams will also be played on March 22-23.
