KARACHI: The Malik Shahid Hamid Shaheed basketball tournament will commence at the Armabagh-Abdul Nasir court from Friday (today) with Bahria Club facing Mumba Karsaz in the opening match.

The tournament will be inaugurated by DIG Police Omar Shahid Hamid at 7:30pm.

KBBA chief Ghulam Mohammad said leading teams of the city will compete in the tournament which will be held under the auspices of PSWA. He said the semifinals of the tournament will be held on March 22 while the final is slated for March 23.

Ghulam Abbas Jamal will head the tournament committee comprising tournament secretary Tariq Hussain, Zaeema Khatoon, Zahid Malik and others. Mohammad Arshad will head the media committee.

DC South Irshad Ali Sodhar assured the KBBA of full cooperation for the tournament.
