LARKANA: A fire broke out in a wedding hall and caused heavy damage to its properties in Waleed town late on Thursday evening.

The owner of the wedding hall told local reporters that the fire was sparked by a firecracker thrown into it and engulfed a wide area. He put the initial estimate of the damage at Rs2 million. He also complained that the fire brigade arrived at the site too late.

Differing with him over cause of the fire, the area police believed it was started due to an electrical short-circuit.
