RAHIM YAR KHAN: Police on Wednesday registered a case against four people who were involved in betting on bear and dogs fight.

The event of bear and dogs fight was organised by residents of Pul Qadirwali of Mauza Jalalpur in the Rukanpur police jurisdiction a few days ago in violation of law to prevent cruelty against animals.

According to the FIR 80/21, Phendi Faqir, owner of bear, Rais Khalid, Rais Zahid and Rais Ahmed Chachar arranged the fight between dogs and a bear which they roped with a wooden pole.

Police, however, remained a silent spectator in another such event of bear and dogs fight organised by an influential landlord at his farmhouse on Tuesday. Sources said heavy bets were made.

Many people watched the fight which, it is alleged, was allowed by police. Later, they registered a case against the suspects when the video went viral.
