KARACHI, Oct 13: Karachi-based fishermen communities have joined in the nationwide relief efforts for the rehabilitation of quake victims in Azad Kashmir and northern areas of Pakistan.

In this regard, the Fishermen Cooperative Society has established a relief camp at the Karachi Fish Harbour for collecting relief goods.

The FCS managing committee has appealed to all commission agents, factory-owners and individuals in the fishery sector to generously contribute to the relief funds and also announced a donation of Rs500,000 towards the President’s relief fund.

Expressing its concern over the massive devastation caused by the earthquake, the committee held out the assurance that fishermen communities would fully support and supplement government’s efforts in this regard.
