GUJAR KHAN: A man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl on Sunday.

The mother of the girl reported to the police that her daughter was playing outside her house when her brother-in-law took her to his home and sexually assaulted her.

SHO Gujar Khan Malik Khizar Hayat said the suspect was arrested a few hours after the registration of an FIR. The medio-legal of the victim has been done and sample of the suspect taken for DNA test, he added.

This is the second case of sexual assault of children reported to the Gujar Khan police in two days.

Residents of the area have demanded strict action against those involved in sexual assault of children and women.
