LAHORE: Remounts and Barry’s earned easy victories on the opening day of the Ittehad Punjab Polo Cup here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Tuesday.

Four goals from Ignacio Negri and a hat-trick from Vieri Antinori guided Remounts to 10-4½ romp against Colony/FG Polo. Bilal Haye also scored twice with Imran Shahid scored the other goal for Remounts. Francisco Bensadon fired three goals while Naveed Sheikh struck once for Colony/FG Polo, who had a half-goal handicap.

Santiago Gomes Remero scored five goals and Ernesto Trotz got three as Barry’s overcame Newage/Jubilee Life 9-6. Hamza Mawaz Khan got the other goal for Barry’s. Salvador Jauretche scored four goals while Salvador Ulloa and Alman Jalil Azam scored one apiece for Newage/Jubilee Life.
