LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Central Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhry alleges that PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz has now begun backing and protecting murderers after drug dealers and qabza mafia.

Speaking at a news conference at party office on Sunday, Mr Chaudhry said the Daska election affairs were running in a peaceful manner until Ms Nawaz said “this was not election but a war”. He said Maryam Nawaz’ statement pushed her party workers to go unruly.

Stating that Ms Nawaz’ lies can not mislead masses, Mr Chaudhry said a large number of PML-N MPAs were present in the election constituency but no action was taken against them.

Stating that the PTI leaders were issued notices and imposed fine, he asked how many PML-N leaders were issued notices. He said the PML-N workers tore down PTI banners and posters and then resorted to firing. He alleged that PML-N worker Javed Butt continue firing.

Mr Chaudhry, who is also a PTI Senate general seat candidate, demanded that the Election Commission of Pakistan should announce the results without any further delay and added that the PTI would accept the Daska election result as it did accept the Wazirabad and Nowshera [poll] results. He said the PTI had won the Daska election by defeating the 11-parties’ joint candidate and added that the Daska people had rejected the PML-N.

PTI office-bearers Nasir Suleiman, Zafarullah Chatha, Malik Amanat Ali, Rana Akhtar Hussain and Dr Misbah Zafar were also present on the occasion.
