ISLAMAABD: Six Islamabad police stations’ SHOs were removed from their posts for poor performance, a police spokesman said.

He said SHOs of Koral, Tarnol, Aapara, Barakahu, Nilore and Shahzad Town had been removed as poor performance would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

He said protecting the lives and property of citizens was top priority.

Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kausar on Saturday directed all officers to make a comprehensive strategy to curb house robberies.

Reviewing the crime situation in the capital during a meeting, he also asked to accelerate the arrest of those who involved in street crime, bootlegging, illegal occupation of lands and absconders.

All zonal SPs were asked to call the plaintiff of murder, attempted murder cases, and informed them about progress in their cases.

He asked SPs to monitor progress on murder cases on daily bases. He ordered effective action against drug dealers, proclaimed offenders and absconders.

He reiterated that progress of each police official would be reviewed and capable cops ensuring effective crackdown on criminals would be encouraged.

The DIG stressed the need for adopting decent police measures in the city and asked the police to serve public with honesty and dedication. The DIG also asked the police officials to enhance patrolling in urban as well as rural areas of the city.
