28 die of Covid in Punjab

LAHORE: As many as 28 more patients died while 526 people tested positive for the Covid-19 during the last 24 hours in Punjab.

Of the new confirmed cases, 313 were reported from Lahore, taking the total number of positive infections in Punjab to 166,142.

A spokesperson for the health department said that the major cities of the province continued to report high number of new infections and deaths because of blatant violation of standard operating procedures and guidelines.

He said the situation was much disturbing in Lahore where on average 250 reported cases of the new infections were surfacing everyday.

According to the official statistics, he said, the total number of positive cases in Lahore reached 84,303 and 2,060 people had died.

Rawalpindi was the second city which is hub of maximum number coronavirus cases and deaths.
