PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa agriculture department has decided to include quinoa crop cultivation project in the annual development programme.

A statement issued here said quinoa grain cultivation, which is known for its health benefits, could bring 15 times more revenue to the country compared to traditional crops.

It said that a team of International Centre of Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), Dubai, had earlier under an agreement with the KP Board of Investment and Trade visited the province and explored the possibility of quinoa plantation in biosaline region of Mardan.

The statement said that KP agriculture department had now agreed to include quinoa cultivation project in the ADP.
