KASUR: Relatives of a woman who gave birth to a baby in a toilet of the Chunian Tehsil Headquarters Hospital on Sunday, have accused the gynaecologist concerned of negligence.

According to Qurban Ali, a relative of Perveen Bibi, 23, wife of Akram, a resident of Kando Khara village, the pregnant woman was admitted to the THQ hospital some two days back, with labour pains.

He said the gynaecologist on duty at the hospital told the family that the woman needed to go under Cesarean section.

He alleged as the procedure was delayed, the woman delivered a baby in a toilet of the hospital on Sunday.

The family demanded the chief minister to look into the matter.

The incident took some days back but went on viral on social media on Sunday.

Chief executive officer (health) Dr. Javed Iqbal expressed his ignorance regarding the incident and said he would look into the matter.

MS Dr. Akram Reehan did not attend the call despite repeated calls and texts.
