District police officer Dilawar Khan Bangash ordered suspension and arrest of SHO Saidu Sharif police station Rafiullah, additional SHO Kokarai police station Sub-Inspector Ayaz, and constables Fazal Khaliq, Mohammad Alam and Ishaq, after they were seen in a social media video beating some women arrested in a theft case, according to a statement.

“All the policemen have been arrested and an FIR registered against them under section 63 of the Police Act.

SP investigations Nazir Khan has been made head of an inquiry committee on the matter, who will submit the report to the DPO within 24 hours,” the statement said.

The women were part of a group allegedly involved in theft cases in Saidu Sharif.

The police claimed to have recovered the stolen money and gold from them.

The policemen were seen beating and kicking the women while taking them to the relevant police station in a vehicle.
