HARIPUR: Residents of Mohallah Rehmatabad of Sera-i-Saleh union council here have demanded of the government and provincial minister for local government Akbar Ayub Khan to construct an access road and initiate work on the gas supply project for their area.

Talking to mediapersons here on Sunday, Mohammad Idrees, Aurangzeb and others said that there were about 500 houses in their locality which had no road for accessing the city by GT Road.

They said that in rainy days they had walk through the muddy track.

They said the rural road should be constructed on priority so that the people, especially elderly and children, could easily access the nearby GT Road and the city.

The villagers also recalled that natural gas was approved for their locality in 2007, but the SNGPL authorities had not yet laid the supply lines.
