House robbers’ gang

Police on Friday claimed to have busted a gang of house robbers in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.

“Three ‘Honda Civic gang’ members were arrested near Rado Hill View after a police party chased the suspects who were fleeing after committing a robbery in a bungalow in Block-11 Gulistan-i-Jauhar,” said the police.

Their four accomplices managed to escape.

The held suspects were identified as Wasim, alias Commando; Javed Shafiq and Amin.

The police recovered one Honda Civic car, one Kalashnikov, one 9mm pistol, two TT pistols and looted mobile phones, laptops, jewellery, cameras and cash from them.

According to Gulshan SP Maroof Usman, after the ‘White Corolla gang’ this ‘Honda Civic gang’ was considered a symbol of fear and was active in house robberies in the metropolis.

The officer believed that this gang had been involved in house robberies in several parts of the metropolis, including Jauhar, Nazimabad, Defence, Clifton and Tariq Road.

He revealed that the police had received information that seven robbers had entered a bungalow in Block-11 for committing robbery on Friday.

A joint police party of Sharea Faisal and Gulistan-i-Jauhar rushed to the spot.

After seeing the police, the suspects resorted to firing in their bid to flee. The police went after them and arrested three suspects while their fourth accomplice escaped.

Sharea Faisal SHO Iftikhar Ahmed said the held suspects had been arrested in the past but got released on bail. The police believed this gang of house robbers comprised of 10 members.
