DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) organised a rally in Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday to protest against the killing of Dr Waliullah Dawar by unidentified attackers in North Waziristan tribal district.

A large number of young doctors participated in the rally held on the premises of the District Headquarters Teaching Hospital, Dera. The rally was led by YDA local chairman Dr Misbah-ur-Rehman Mehsud, senior vice-president Dr Mohammad Ilyas and spokesman Dr Siddique.

The protesters wore black armbands and carried placards inscribed with slogans against the assassination of Dr Waliullah Dawar.

They demanded protection for the doctors’ community.

The speakers said that the killing of Dr Waliullah was not just the murder of a doctor but it was an attack on the whole doctors’ community.

The government should not only expose the killers of Dr Waliullah but also bring them to justice, they demanded.

They said that the government should provide full protection to doctors and extend financial assistance to the family of Dr Waliullah under the Martyrs Package.
