REFERRING to the alleged official interference in the elections in the Punjab, Mr. M.A. Jinnah, addressing a public meeting under the auspices of the Punjab Muslim Students’ Federation on Sunday, said that the present Governor of the Punjab by his acts of commission and omission had done the greatest harm to the cause of British Imperialism in India, says an A.P.I report.

The League wanted free and fair elections, and would not countenance any interference even if it were from a Muslim official. He, however, assured that if they spread out in the countryside and convinced every Musalman of the righteousness of their cause, they would emerge victorious and break the Glancy-Khizr axis.

He referred to the cent per cent success of the Muslim League in the Central Assembly elections and declared that if the same spirit of co-operation continued, the Muslim League would sweep the polls in the provinces.

Mr. Jinnah added that the Muslim League had made rapid strides during the past five or six years so much so that Britain, America and other Powers now realised that it was the only authoritative body of the 100 million Musalmans of India.
