LARKANA: A newborn who had gone missing soon after her birth at the Shaikh Zayed Hospital for Women here on Thursday last (Dec 30) was traced out by the Larkana police on Tuesday. The baby was taken away by someone to Kandhkot.

The missing report was lodged by her father, Dilshad Chandio, a resident of Warah town, at the Sachal police station. He stated that he took up the matter with the hospital management soon after his wife, Ms Mumtaz Khatoon, delivered the baby and an unknown woman took it away.

The police obtained the closed-circuit TV camera footage from the hospital to trace out the baby and her kidnapper. Larkana SSP Masood Ahmed Bangash assigned the task to SP Headquarter Mohammed Kaleem Malik, who constituted an investigation team. In the meantime, a woman resident of Kalhoro Colony, Kandhkot, posted the baby’s photo on social media with the caption that someone left the baby near her house.

The police team along with the baby’s parents rushed to the specified place and took custody of the baby, which was eventually handed over to her parents.
