SWABI: A property dispute claimed lives of two cousins in Panjpir village here on Tuesday, Rescue 1122 officials said.

They said there had been a land dispute running between two families of close relatives, which culminated into the double murder. They said exchange of hot words led to the shootings.

As a result of the firing, two cousins, Anwar Zeb and Nasir Khan, were seriously injured, and they died while being taken to the Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor. A third man, Anwar Khan, got injuries in the firing.

Eyewitnesses said the rivals took positions on rooftops of their houses and resorted to firing.

The injured Anwar Khan, who was also admitted to the Bacha Khan Hospital, got registered an FIR against his cousins, stating that they had a property dispute with their relatives.

Meanwhile, three people, including two children, were injured when two motorcycles collided in Maini Chowk on Tuesday.

The Rescue 1122 officials said the cause of the accident was over-speeding.

The injured included Hayat Khan, 29, Shoaib Khan, 5, and Khaista Begum, 3.

Also, two people were injured when a bike and a rickshaw collided near Shewa Adda on the Swabi-Mardan Road.

The injured were taken to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Razaar.
