KARACHI, Oct 6: A young man was shot dead by unknown persons in Lyari early on Thursday. Police said that the body of a youth, identified as Mohammad Wazir, 20, with multiple bullet wounds was found in Singu Lane area. It was shifted to the Civil Hospital for postmortem examination.

Hospital sources said that the victim had died instantly after receiving bullet wounds.

ACCIDENT: A pedestrian was knocked down by a speeding trailer on Mauripur Road on Thursday.

The victim was identified as Nazar Husain, 30, who was hit while he was crossing the road. He died on the spot, police said, adding that the killer vehicle sped away after the accident. Police shifted the body to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities.

An unidentified young man was seriously injured in a road accident in Gulberg on Thursday.

He was brought to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital but later referred to the JPMC as he had suffered a head injury, hospital sources said.

The Gulberg police was ignorant about the place of the accident, and maintained that a police official had been sent to the hospital to collect details.
