Bride gang-raped in front of in-laws in Sheikhupura

SHEIKHUPURA: A woman who was married three days ago was gang-raped by three people in a field in the limit of the Farooqabad Saddar police on Tuesday.

Reports said the bride spent a day with her parents in Eilanwali village after the wedding ceremony. She with her mother-in-law and three other male family members was traveling in an auto-rickshaw to her laws in Farooqabad on Tuesday.

When they crossed the underpass on the motorway, three people wearing masks intercepted them. They snatched mobile phones, cash and jewellery from the rickshaw riders and later gang-raped the bride.

After the rape, they released the woman and also returned their mobile phones and fled with cash and jewellery. The police have started an investigation.

The inspector general of police directed the district police officer to take stern action and arrest the rapists.

The Farooqabad Saddar police arrested four suspects in the case.

This is outrageous. What is going on? Every day we read stories of 7-8 year old girls being raped and killed. In a recent case a little angle was killed first and the raped by two people. And now this newly wed being subjected to this gang rape. Has our society gone to the dogs? Are we humans. Even animals do not resort to these acts. It is time our police, courts and governments take action against these criminals.

Sadly the rape seems to have some unseen factors as monsters only raped the lady but did not take away any valuables. Exactly the case of pattern when a woman was raped on motorway in front of her kids. I hope police finds these monsters and they are duly punished.
