CHITRAL: Two persons died and three sustained serious injuries when a jeep plunged into a ravine in Acholga forest of Bumburate here on Monday afternoon.

Rescue 1122 officials told Dawn that Sher Hakim Kalash from Bumburate and Shamsuddin of Ayun village died on the spot, while injured Iqraruddin and two brothers, Said Ahmed and Abdul Azam, were shifted to the district headquarters hospital in critical condition.

The driver lost control over the jeep loaded with fuel wood due to slippery road.

A day earlier on Sunday, in a similar incident in Rumbur valley, one person had died when a jeep loaded with timber skidded off the road.
