ISLAMABAD: Four people lost their lives and 25 others were injured in a traffic accident in the capital on Sunday.

The incident took place on Srinagar Highway.

According to a police official, a coaster carrying staff of Islamabad International Airport (IIA) was going to the airport from Zero Point when all of a sudden a car emerged from G-12. As a result, the car and the coaster collided with each other. The coaster then hit a vegetable-loaded pickup.

“The incident took place due to bad weather, slippery road and out of order traffic signal. As many as four people died in the accident. The deceased were identified as Naseem Khan, Gul Khan and Alam Khan while the name of the fourth one could not be known,” he said.

The official said the injured were shifted to Pims where four were critical.
