ISLAMABAD: All top seeded players moved into the second round of Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan National Ranking Tennis Championship after registering comfortable victories here at PTF Complex on Tuesday.

Davis Cupper Mohammad Abid crushed Aqib Hayat in straight two games without conceding even a single point while Shahzad Khan outplayed Barkatullah in three games 6-3, 0-6, 6-2.

Mudassir Murtaza defeated Rashid Malik6-4,6-4 but Muzammil Murtaza faced stiff challenge from Imran Bhatti. He won the first game comfortably 6-2 but in next game both players exhibited brilliant performance and matched stroke for stroke. However, after a good fight Muzammil ultimately won on tie break 7-6(4). As compare to Men’s singles, U-18 event was bit excited as at least four matches were went upto the third game.

Mohammad Bilal, Osama Khan, Zalan Khan and Hasheesh Kumar won their U-18 matches after a good three games. Overall, 30 matches were played on Tuesday in the men’s singles, boys U-18 and under-14 events. Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tennis Federation Khawar Hyat Khan watched the matches and appreciated the performance of players.
