MARDAN: Police here on Monday claimed to have traced and arrested the killer of a local trader, whose dead body was found in the agricultural fields in Thooth village about a week ago.

DPO Dr Zahidullah Khan told a press conference that he constituted a team soon after occurrence to trace the killer.

It merits a mention here that a local trader Ubaid Hoti, 22, was killed by unidentified persons. His dead was found in agricultural fields located in Thooth village a week ago.

The DPO said that the investigation team took several suspected persons into custody and interrogated them. He claimed that the accused identified as Adnan confessed to his crime during interrogations.

He said that the Adnan, a rickshaw driver, had barrowed Rs286,500 from the slain trader.

The accused said that he planned to kill the trader when he repeatedly demanded of him to return the amount. He added that he was unable to pay back the loan.

The arrested accused told police that he asked the trader to come to the area located in the remits of Chora police station to get back his borrowed money. He said that he killed the local trader when he reached the area.
