The chief justice of Lahore High Court has issued directives to suspend regular court work for the next two weeks due to a "rapid increase" in coronavirus cases.

"The next two weeks commencing on Dec 14 and Dec 21 are declared motion weeks. During these two weeks, only urgent cases, fixed by court cases, 22-A CrPC matters, bail applications, quashment of writ petitions, writ petitions against interim orders and writ petitions in service matters involving short questions of law, shall be fixed," the notification reads.
