Haripur DC office shut over nine Covid cases

HARIPUR: The office of the deputy commissioner was closed for five days after nine employees tested positive for coronavirus, officials said here on Saturday.

They said during the last 24 hours 70 patients, nine of the employees of the deputy commissioner office, had tested positive for Covid-19 in the district. They added all the positive patients had been home quarantined for 14 days.

When contacted, focal person for coronavirus pandemic Dr Hasnain Raza confirmed the report of 70 coronavirius positive cases, including nine from the office of DC office during the last 24 hours.

He said a total of 1,401 positive cases had been reported in the district since the second wave had started. Of them, 1,260 had recovered and 29 died. There were 112 active cases. He urged the people to observe SOPs for their own protection and those in their direct contacts.

When contacted, deputy commissioner Nadeem Nasir confirmed the report of closure of his office over the coronavirus cases.
